Archery Association of India (AAI) secretary-general Anil Kamineni on Monday said that the AAI was considering starting an archery league like other city-based sports leagues.

The league is expected to lift the standard of archery in India by providing exposure to talented archers.

“Conceptualised with the agenda of promoting archery in India and nurturing talent, the league will bring back the excitement associated with this traditional sport,” said a release. “The AAI is working closely with the World Archery Federation and the league will include top foreign archers, both men and women, in recurve and compound divisions,” it added.
