  • Shooting: Saurabh Chaudhary, 16, wins gold for India in the men's 10m air pistol with a Games Record of 240.7. ( Report )
  • Abhishek Verma clinches in a bronze in the same event. 
  • Sanjeev Rajput wins silver in the 50m rifle 3 positions event, giving India its third medal in shooting today.
  • Swimming: Virdhawal Khade betters own national record to qualify for the men's 50m freestyle category. ( Report ). He, however, misses bronze by the closest of margins and finishes fourth.
  • Wrestling: Divya Kakran wins bronze in the women's freestyle 68kg category.
  • Sepak takraw: India settles for a bronze after losing to Thailand in the men's semifinals. ( Report )
  • Wushu: India is assured of four medals as Roshinabina Devi, Santosh Kumar, Surya Pratap Singh and Narender Grewal advance into the semifinals.

8:40pm: WUSHU: Pardeep falters in the quarterfinals, losing 1-2 to Indonesia's Puja Riyaya in the men's Sanda 70 kg category. He is India's only Wushu represent to not make it past the last-eight stage today.

8:24 pm: WUSHU: Can India's Pardeep Kumar make it five out of five in Wushu? He will meet Indonesia's Puja Riyaya in the men's Sanda 70 kg category.

8:15 pm:WUSHU: India's terrific run in Wushu continues. 2014 Incheon Asian Games medalist Narender Grewal beats Uzbekistan's Akmal Rakhimov 2-0 in the men's Sanda 65 kg to advance into the semifinals. Another medal for India assured!

8:15 pm: HOCKEY: FULL-TIME! India 21 – 0 Kazakhstan. There goes the final hooter! Lalremsiami, Vandana Katariya and  Navneet Kaur all score hattricks as drag flicker Gurjit Kaur has four goals to her name from penalty corners in a thumping win against the tournament’s lowest-ranked side.

8:10 pm: HOCKEY: India go with the second battery of Reena Khokar with its latest penalty corner, but Kazakhstan's rear guard deflects the shot to safety.

8:08 pm: HOCKEY: Penalty corner to India, but Deep Grace Ekka's grounded shot is easily stopped and cleared by the goalkeeper.

8:05 pm: HOCKEY: Monika makes it 21-0 for India as she gets into the area unmarked and scores with a powerful reverse hit.

8:04 pm: HOCKEY: Absolute carnage out there as Navjot scores the goal this time. India 20-0.

8:02 pm: HOCKEY: India 19-0! Now Vandana katariya completes her hat-trick with a move started by Udita and Navneet passing to the forward who puts it into the net.

7:59 pm: HOCKEY: Fourth goal for Gurjit Kaur! This time the drag flicker scoops the ball into the top left corner of the net to beat the goalkeeper. India 18-0!

7:54 pm: HOCKEY: Navneet gets her hat-trick! Indian Eves emulate the scoreline from the men's match against Indonesia on Monday. She joins teammates Lalremsiami and Gurjit who have scored thrice in this match. India 17-0

7:50 pm: HOCKEY: Final quarter on the way!

7:48 pm: HOCKEY: Lilima makes it 16-0! End of third quarter.

7:46 pm: HOCKEY: Gurjit scores her hat-trick! The defender finally has scores her third goal from the penalty corner as she smashes into the roof of the net.

7.45 pm: HOCKEY: India 14-0! Deep Grace Ekka scores from India thirteenth penalty corner as she places her drag flick perfectly into the right corner.

7.43 pm: WUSHU: Another medal for Wushu assured. India's Surya Bhanu Pratap Singh beats Jean Claude Saclag of Philippines 2-0 in the men's sanda - 60kg quarterfinals.

7:40 pm: HOCKEY: Vandana earns India eleventh penalty corner of the match which leads to another attempt from Neha at the near post following a save from the goalkeeper.

7:37 pm: HOCKEY: Navneet makes 13-0! Indian forwards take out the Kazakhstan defence with two one-touch passes as Navneeth slaps another goal into the post.

7:34 pm: HOCKEY: Two for Vandana! Vandana makes it 12-0 as she turns cleverly to direct a long pass from the deep into the net.

7:31 pm: HOCKEY: GURJIT SCORES FROM THE PENALTY SPOT! India 11-0.

7:28 pm: HOCKEY: India hits double figures! Vandana takes out three defenders in her wake and unleashes a reverse hit at the far post. India 10-0.

7:27 pm: HOCKEY:
India misses two chances to make it ten for the evening as Vandana deflects one over the post.

7:26 pm: HOCKEY:
Lilima takes a reverse shot from just outside the D area, but the referee awards a free hit to Kazakhstan as the shot hits a defender.

7:25 pm: HOCKEY: Second-half starts!

7:15 pm: HOCKEY: HALF-TIME! India 9-0 Kazakhstan. Lalremsiami completes her hat-trick!

7:13 pm: HOKCEY: Vandana makes it 8-0! The forward jumps on a loose ball inside the area and finishes it past the goalkeeper.

7:10 pm: HOCKEY: Corner for India! But Gurjit drags her shot into the ground which skids on to the goalkeeper's pads.
7:07 pm: HOCKEY:
Kazakhstan is spreading out after India took its foot off the gas playing long passes near the centre and not pressurising the defenders to regain possession inside the penalty area.

7:06 pm: HOCKEY: India has settled into a relaxed pace after the early onslaught resulted in seven unanswered goals.

7:04 pm: HOCKEY: Kazakhstan is pinned inside its own area as its superior opponent has laid a siege on the goal.

After Udita is denied a penalty corner by the TV umpire, India pour forward again passing it from the back.

6:56 pm: HOCKEY: Lalrimsiami scores the seventh! The Kazakh defence is in disarray after failing to clear a corner. The Indians easily pass the ball from one stick to the other and Lalrimsiami gets the final touch before the goal. India 7-0!

6:55 pm: HOCKEY: Navneet's shot saved! Lalrimsiami is lurking at the far corner but Navneet goes for a reverse shot which the goalie deflects to safety.

6:53 pm: HOCKEY: India 6-0! Navjot controls the goalkeeper's save in the centre and puts it behind the net.

6:51 pm: HOCKEY: End of First quarter! India 5 - 0 Kazakhstan

6:50 pm: HOCKEY: India wins two back-to-back Penalty Corners, but Gurjit's low shots towards the right corner blocked by the goalkeeper.

6:46 pm: HOCKEY: Vandana bags a deserved goal! The winger has just been unstoppable today, breaking into the opposition area again and finishes off with composure. India 5-0.

6: 44 pm: HOCKEY: Navneet adds one more! The forward receives a cut-back from Vandana on the right and smashes it into the left corner. India 4-0

6:41 pm: HOCKEY: NEHA SCORES THE THIRD GOAL! Neha Goyal scores a solo goal taking out four defenders to make it 3-0 for India.

6.40 pm: HOCKEY: LALRIMSIAMI MAKES IT 2-0! Lilima drifts IN brilliantly from the centre and puts Lalrimsiami through to the goal who guides it into the goal.

6.38 pm: HOCKEY: Goal India! Gurjit scores on the third occasion-- this time placing her shot on the extreme right corner.

6.37 pm: HOCKEY: India wins another Penalty Corner, but once again the Gurjit's shot does not test the goalkeeper. But India work out a way to win another corner.

6.33 pm: HOCKEY: Vandana wins a Penalty Corner for India, but Gurjit's drag flick is saved by the Kazakh goalkeeper.

6.30 pm: HOCKEY: India vs Kazakhstan: First-quarter starts!

 

6.15 pm: HOCKEY: India vs Kazakhstan(6:30 pm IST): India women's team, ranked ninth in the world, will be facing 34th-ranked Kazakhstan in its second Pool B match after beating host Indonesia 8-0 in the opening match. Sjoerd Marijne’s team will look to better its penalty conversion after squandering countless opportunities to score from corners against an unranked opponent in the first match.

5.55 pm: ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS: The Indian team of Dipa Karmakar, Pranati Nayak, Aruna Reddy, Pranati Das, Mandira Chowdhury qualify for the final after finishing seventh in the qualifications. India finished with 144.300 points. China takes the top spot with 166.100 points.

5.51 pm: CANOEING: India's Champa Mourya qualifies for the semifinals after finishing ninth in the heats.

 

 

5:05pm: TENNIS: MIXED DOUBLES ROUND OF 16: Divij Sharan and Karman Kaur Thandi lost in the pre-quarterfinals  1-2 ( 4-6, 6-3, 5-10) to Kazakhstan's Aleksandr and Anna Danilina.

5:00pm: TENNIS: MIXED DOUBLES ROUND OF 32: Rohan Bopanna/Ankita Raina through to the pre-quarterfinals with a 6-3, 2-6, 11-9 win over Korea's Jeamoon Lee and Nari Kim.

4:41pm: SWIMMING: VIRDHAWAL KHADE misses the bronze by a whisker after clocking 22.46s in the men's 50m freestyle final. He finishes just .01 seconds (100th of a second) behind bronze medallist Shunichi Nakao!

4:40pm: TENNIS: MIXED DOUBLES ROUND OF 32: Rohan Bopanna/Ankita Raina lose the second set against Korea 2-6. Score: 6-3, 2-6.

4:25pm: KABADDI: And there goes the whislte. Thailand sneaks a successful last raid but the its the Indian team that clinches the tie. The seven time Asian Games champion defeats Thailand 49-30 to register its third group stage win.

4:22pm: KABADDI: The Indians are running away with this one. The defence has looked a little rusty but the attacking trio of Manu Goyat, Rahul Chaudhari and Pardeep Narwal have ensured the Indians remain on top. India leads 48-28.

4:20pm: TENNIS: Rohan Bopanna and Ankita Raina win the first set 6-3 in the mixed doubles round-of-32 match against Korea's Jeamoon Lee and Nari Kim.

4:00pm: KABADDI: Defending champion India dominating this tie with a nine-point lead at the end of the first half. India leads 21-12.

3:40pm: KABADDI: India vs Thailand men's kabaddi match is currently underway. India will look to bounce back after suffering a shocking defeat against Korea on Monday. It was India's maiden loss in Asian Games history.  India currently leads 16-5.

3:30pm: ARCHERY: RECURVE: In the men's individual event, Atanu Das is the highest ranked Indian at No. 14 at the end of the ranking round. Viwash is placed 17th while Jagdish Choudhary and Sukhchain Singh are placed 39th and 46th respectively.  In the men's team ranking, India is placed eighth.

3:25pm: BRIDGE: India men's team is in the fifth position after the first two rounds in the 13-round qualification of the bridge competition.  In the mixed team round-robin matches, India is currently placed sixth after the first two rounds.

3:05pm: FENCING: India's Jyotika Dutta exits in the quarterfinal stage of the women's epee individual event. She loses 3-15 to Man Vai Vivian of Hong Kong.


2:53pm: SHOOTING:
Lakshay gets five on five but India remains in the bottom of the table and bows out of contention in the mixed team final. The poor showing from Shreyasi in her first series of shots costs us dear. 

2:45pm: SHOOTING: It is turning out to be a forgettable final for India. Lakshay Sheoran gets three right in his second series of shots. Shreyas does slightly better her second series, hits three of the five on target. But India is still in the bottom of the table. The duo have one more round of shots for the elimination, but it looks quite an uphill task for the team.

2:40pm: SHOOTING: TRAP MIXED TEAM FINAL: After Lakshay Sheoran gets four of the five claybirds on target, Shreyasi Singh has a poor run, managing to hit only one in her first five shots. 

2:30pm: SHOOTING: It has been a great day for Indian shooting contingent. The trap mixed team has just begun, and Lakshay Sheoran and Shreyasi Singh are looking add a fourth medal for India today. Will they be successful? Lakshay, 20, has already won a silver in the singles event.

2:20pm: ARCHERY: Women's Recurve Individual:  Deepika Kumari finishes 17th in the ranking round. India finishes seventh in the women't team ranking round.  ( Qualification Report )

2:00pm: WRESTLING: Manish gets injured during the quarterfinal match in the 67kg category, loses 0-8.

1:35pm: WRESTLING: Gyanender goes down 0-5 against Uzbekistan's Bakhramov Islomjon in the quarterfinals of the 60kg Greco-Roman category.

1:20pm: TENNIS: Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan progress to the quarterfinals of the men's doubles event with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Thailand's Wishaya Trongcharoenchaik and Nuttanon Kadchapanan.  

1: 15pm: WRESTLING: Kiran Bishnoi loses 2-4 to Kyrgyzstan's Aiperi Medet Kyzy in the quarterfinals of the 76kg Greco-Roman category. Divya Kakran had lost her 68kg quarterfinals to Mongolia's Tumentsetseg Sharkhuu a while earlier.

 

 

 

12:48pm:  SHOOTING: Sanjeev is assured of a medal now. He is in the second spot with only three shooters in the fray.

12:47pm: SHOOTING: A bad shot (8.4) from Sanjeev Rajput pulls him down to the third spot. The Chinese shooters now hold the top two positions.

12:45pm: SHOOTING: 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men's Final: Five more shots remain and Sanjeev is still in the lead (402.8pts), but just .3 separates him and Haoran Yang.

12:40pm: SHOOTING: 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men's Final: Sanjeev Rajput is still in the lead by 1.1 points with 10 shots remaining, but China's Haoran Yang is closing in.

12:35pm: WRESTLING: Greco-Roman: Gyanender has progressed to the quarterfinals in the 60kg category with a 10-2 win over Thailand's Piyabut Wiratul.

12:30pm: SEPAK TAKRAW: Indian women's team loses to Thailand 3-0 in preliminary Group A match.  The men's team had assured India of a medal by progressing to the semifinals with a win over Iran on Monday. It will be India's first-ever medal in the sport in Asian Games.

12:28pm: SHOOTING: Rajput has a lead of 3.0 points after 30 shots (307.1 pts) . We still have 15 more shots remaining.

12:20pm: SHOOTING: Sanjeev Rajput regains the lead after the first series of shots in prone. He maintains it after the second series with a score of 254.3.

12: 18pm: TENNIS: Ankita Raina progresses to the quarterfinals with a  6-1, 6-2 win over Japan's  Hozumi Eri. Karman Kaur Thandi, however, is knocked out in the pre-quarters by Liang En-Shuo 6-2, 4-6, 6-7. 

12:13pm: SHOOTING: 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men's Final: Sanjeev is now in second position after 15 shots in the kneeling position with a score of 151.2. Kazakh Yuriy Yurkov is ahead by 0.5 points

12:10 pm: SHOOTING: 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men's Final: Sanjeev Rajput maintains the lead after the second series of shots.

12:05 pm: SHOOTING: 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men's final is underway now and Sanjeev Rajput is in the lead after the first five shots. 

11:48 am: SHOOTING: Lakshay Sheoran and Shreyasi Singh help India qualify for the final in the Trap Mixed Team event. Lakshay has been in good form and had collected silver in the men's trap event yesterday. Will he go on to secure another medal today?

11.30 am | SHOOTING: Sanjeev Rajput competes in the men's 50m rifle 3 final having qualified with a score of 1160.

11.24 am | KABADDI: Indian women's team continues its dominant run at the Asian Games with a thumping 54-22 victory over host Indonesia, following up its convincing win (38-12) over Sri Lanka earlier this morning.

 

 

 

CHAUDHARY WINS GOLD

10.40 am | SHOOTING: 16-year-old Saurabh Chaudhary wins gold in men's 10m air pistol with a Games Record of 240.7, Abhishek Verma clicnhes bronze! Two medals in one event for India!

10.27 am | SHOOTING: Saurabh Chaudhary and Abhishek Verma are currently placed second and fourth in the finals of the men's 10m air pistol.

9.44 am | VOLLEYBALL: Indian women beaten in straight sets by Vietnam, which wins 18-25 22-25 13-25 in 66 minutes. ( Report )

9.40 am | TAEKWONDO: Kashish Malik loses 8-17 in the 57kg women's takewondo, to Korea's Lee Ahreum.

9.22 am | VOLLEYBALL: Indian women trail Vietnam by two sets to love and are fighting to stay in the Pool B match.

8.54 am | ROWING: Sanjukta Dung Dung and Harpreet Kaur have qualified for the women's pair rowing finals.

8.47 am | SHOOTING: Saurabh Chaudhary and Abhishek Verma have qualified for the final of the 10m air pistol event, after finishing 1st and 6th respectively.

8.31 am | SHOOTING: In the 10m Air Pistol Men's event, Saurabh Chaudhary continues to top the list while Abhishek Verma is down in 12th. In the 50m Air Pistol Men's event, Sanjeev Rajput is currently in sixth.

8.30 am | VOLLEYBALL: The India women are in action against Vietnam in their Pool B match.

8.15 am | TAEKWONDO: In the Women’s +67 kg round-of-16 game, Rodali Barua loses 0-5 to Taipei’s Tinghsia Ma.

 

8.09 am | KABBADI: The final whistle goes and India registers a hat-trick of wins. The Indian woman have bossed the game and defeat the Sri Lankans 38-12.

8.03 am |ROWING: Dattu Bhokanal has qualified for the final of the men's single sculls.

7.59 am | SHOOTING: Sanjeev Rajput and Saurabh Chaudhary are competing in the men's 50m rifle 3 and the 10m air pistol events respectvively. 

7.57 am | KABBADI: Indian women have taken a 31-5 lead. With nine minutes remaining, it looks like an unassailable lead.

 

7.53 am | SWIMMING: Vikram Virdhawal Khade wins the men’s 50m Freestyle Heats and qualifies for the finals.

7.47 am | KABBADI: At the end of the first half, Indian women lead the Sri Lankans 23-4. Dominant display!

7.43 am | SWIMMING: Anshul Kothari win the men’s 50m Freestyle Heats.

7.39 am | KABBADI: The Indian women race away to a 14-0 lead before Sri Lanka manages to add two points to the board. It took Sri Lankan women eight and a half minutes to earn their first points.

7.30 am | The Indian women's KABBADI team, which has been unbeaten so far in the competition, is in action right now against Sri Lanka in the group stage match.
