Asian Games, Day 13: Indians in action

India is to take on Japan in what promises to be a high- voltage women's hockey final, on Friday.

India is to take on Japan at the women's hockey final in the Asian Games on Friday.

Athletics, yet again, became India's saviour as it got hold of two gold, one silver and two bronze medals, at the Asian Games on Thursday. Jinson Johnson's 800m disappointment finally saw the shine of gold as he won the final of the men's 1500m.

In the women's 4 x 400m, India clinched gold with the help of Hima Das, Saritaben Gayakwad, Poovamma Raju and Vismaya. The same event for men saw India clinch silver. Both in discus throw and women's 1500m, India managed to grab bronze, as well.

On Friday, Day 13, India can hope for more medals as Krishan Vikas and Amit Panghal fight it out in the boxing semifinals in their respective categories. Also, India is to take on Japan in what promises to be a high- voltage women's hockey final, on Friday.
