Hello and welcome to Sportstar's live blog of day 10 of the 2018 Asian Games held in Jakarta and Palembang.

Blog:

That's it for tonight. We have had another pulsating track and field day with India dominating in the 800m and second best in the 4x400m relay. We will have more action coming our way on Wednesday.

8.35pm: (ATHLETICS): Athletics Federation of India confirms that India has lodged a protested regarding the 4x400m Mixed Relay result. The bone of contention is that the second Bahraini runner obstructed Hima Das at the baton handover. The result of the protest will be announced by a jury at 10 a.m tomorrow. There is no news yet of a counter-protest from any other team against India.

7.40pm: (DIVING): India finishes sixth in men's synchronised springboard diving. Ramananda Sharma and Siddharth Pardeshi finish with 322.14 points. China takes the gold with 479.52 points.

7.21pm: (ATHLETICS): SILVER for India in 4x400m mixed relay. Muhammed Anas started well before handing over the baton to Poovamma who squandered a lead to Bahrain. Hima Das was up next but catching up with Bahrain was next to impossible. Arokia Rajiv dashed in the final home run and got home the silver! Bahrain got the gold with a timing of 3:11:89 and India clocked 3:15:71.

7.13pm: (ATHLETICS): The mixed teams of 4x400m relay are walking out. India is on Lane 5. Muhammed Anas, Hima Das, Arokia Rajiv and MR Poovamma are out on the tracks. This is the first ever mixed relay in the history of the Games. India is going with the male-female-female-male combo. (Anas-Poovamma-Hima-Arokia).

7.05pm: (HEPATHLON): Purnima Hembram finishes first in the 200m heats with a timing of 25.34. Swapna Barman comes fourth with a timing of 26.08. So far, in shotput, Swapna Barman stands first with 2691 points while Purnima is third. In the high jump, Swapna finishes first in high jump and Purnima finishes third. In the 100m Purnima finished third while Swapna finished fifth.

6.59pm: (DIVING): The men's synchronised 3m springboard final is underway. We have Ramananda Sharma and Siddharth Pardeshi in action. At the end of two dives, the Indians have 90.00 points. A mediocre performance, one must admit!

6.57pm: (JAVELIN THROW): India's Annu Rani finishes sixth with a 53.93 mark finish.

6.40pm: (ATHLETICS): Manjeet Singh and Jinson Johnson have sprinted their way into the record books too.

6.37pm: (ATHLETICS): In the women's 5000m finals, India doesn't bag a medal as Suriya Loganathan finishes fifth and Sanjivani Jadhav finishes seventh.

6.22pm: (KURASH): Silver for Pinky Balhara as she loses the women's 52kg final to Gulnor Sulaymanova 0-10 in the final.

6.20pm: (ATHLETICS): While we are still yet to recover from that electric 800m final, it is now time for some endurance. We have the women's 5000m final coming up. India's Suriya Loganathan and Sanjivani Jadhav will be in action.

6.13pm: (ATHLETICS): Manjeet Singh finishes with a timing of 1:46:15 while Jinson Johnson clocks 1:46:35. A great run by the Indian duo.

6.11pm: (ATHLETICS): GOLD for Manjit Singh! Silver for Jinson Johnson! What a run by Manjeet and Jinson. Manjeet takes off in the last 50m and finishes first in style. Jinson closely follows him and it has been a field day for India.

6.09pm: (ATHLETICS): It is time for 800m final . Jinson Johnson and Manjit Singh in action.

6.00pm: (KURASH): Mixed luck for India as Malaprabha Jadhav misses a place in the final after losing to Uzbekistan's Gulnor Sulaymanova by a whopping 0-10 margin.

5.50pm: (KURASH): Pincky Balhara is through to the final in the women's 52kg category. She beats Uzbekistan's Oysuluv Abdumajidova 3-0.

5.31pm: (ATHLETICS): In heptathlon Swapna Barman's first attempt at shotput fetches her 12.69 metres. She leads with 707 points.

5.27pm: (ATHLETICS): What an anti-climax. A false start by Hima Das and she is disqualified. Well, how disappointing this can get for the Indian. She is shown the red card and was almost lost in emotions as she walked away. She did briefly applaud the fans but it was a golden chance gone down for Das. But it is not all over for Hima Das. She will be in action for the 4x400m mixed relay later tonight.

5.25pm: (ATHLETICS): Hima Das now. She is on Lane 1.

5.20pm: (ATHLETICS): What a run by Dutee Chand. She clocks 23.00 and finishes first in the 200m first semifinal. Next up, is Hima Das in the second semifinal. Dutee started accelerating in the last 50-60m stretch and jumped from the fourth position to the pole position exactly at the finish line. Bahrain's Edidiong Odiong finished second at 23.01. Talk about a split second!

5:18pm: (ATHLETICS): Dutee Chand lines up for her 200m semifinal. She's on lane no. 6.

4:43pm: (KURASH): Second medal assured for India in Kurash. Pincky Balhara registers a 3-0 win over Indonesia's Terry Susanti in the 52kg quarterfinals.

4.25pm: (SQUASH): Indian men (Saurav Ghosal, Harinder Pal Sandhu, Ramit Tandon and Mahesh Mangaonkar) come up with another good performance to beat Qatar 2-1. India now plays the semifinal next.

12:53pm (BADMINTON): World No. 1 Tai Tzu Ying was pretty much unstoppable in the final. The Chinese Taipei player takes the gold with a dominating 21-13, 21-16 win over India's P.V. Sindhu. The Indian has to be content wih another silver. Nonetheless, it is still India's best performance in badminton at the Asian Games and Sindhu should be mighty proud of her effort.  Check our badminton blog for a recap of the final.

Silver for the men's compound archery team

It will be a tough pill to digest after such a terrific display in the final for Indian archers Rajat Chauhan, Aman Saina and Abhishek Verma.

12:30pm: (ARCHERY): The scores are level at the end of four sets at 229-229. It seemed like an Indian win but a revision of scores gives Korea 59-57 win in the fourth set.  It's going to be a shootout for gold.

12:22pm: (ARCHERY): India takes the lead again after winning the third set 58-56. It was a good comeback from India and mediocre run from Korea. One more set remains and India leads 172-170. This is the best possible situation to be in for India going into the last set. Will India get the gold?

12:16pm: (ARCHERY): Korea takes the second set 58-54 and levels the score 114-114. India was enjoying a 4-point lead after the first set and has lost it all in the second.  Against the mighty Koreans, that may prove costly.
