Indian quartermilers Amoj Jacob, Arokia Rajiv and national record holder Mohammed Anas comfortably qualified for men’s semifinals at the 22nd Asian Athletics Championships here on Thursday.
Ajay Kumar Saroj and Siddhanta Adhikari progressed to the 1500m final.
Odisha's P. U. Chitra progressed to the women’s 1500m final along with Monika Chudhary.
Ajay Kumar and B. Chethan moved to men’s high jump final after clearing the automatic qualifying height of 2.10m.
The men’s discus throw, which will see defending champion Vikas Gowda in action, women’s long jump, which will feature Kerala girls Nayana James and V. Neena, will be held this evening. Manpreet Kaur in women’s shot put and Annu Rani in women’s javelin throw are the other participants to watch out for.
