Hima fifth in under-18 Worlds

Assam's Hima Das had clocked a personal best (PB) 24.31s in the semifinal.

Assam’s Hima Das finished a creditable fifth in the girls 200m at the IAAF World under-18 athletics championships in Nairobi, Kenya, on Sunday. She clocked 24.39s.

Hima had clocked a personal best (PB) 24.31s in the semifinal while her teammate Rajashree Prasad also clocked a PB 24.85s but could not progress further.
 

Meanwhile, Abhay Gupta finished eighth in the boys’ javelin throw with 57.04m while Sanjay Kumar, who led till 3000m, in the boys 10,000m race walk was disqualified after getting three red cards. And in the mixed 4x400m relay, India failed to qualify for the final after finishing fifth in the heats.
