Khelo India: Sudeshna Shivankar sprints to gold

Tamil Nadu’s Nithin B ran effortlessly to stride home first in boys U-21, emerging the fastest in his event at 10.76.

Sudeshna Shivankar extended her 4x100 relay form into the girls U-17 100 dash, running a calculated race to dip at the tape in 10.48 seconds and strike a gold medal for Maharashtra on track at the Khelo India Youth Games at the Balewadi Stadium here on Friday.

She was followed home by Telangana’s Deepthi Jeevanji.

Karnataka’s U-21 sprinter T. Dineshwari cruised home in girls U-21, timed at 11.99 ahead of Supriya Maddali (AP). Tamil Nadu’s Nithin B ran effortlessly to stride home first in boys U-21, emerging the fastest in his event at 10.76.

The results:

100m girls U-17: 1. Sudeshna Shivankar (MAH) 12.48 secs, 2. Deepthi Jeevanji (TL) 12.54, 3. Ann Rose Tomy (KER) 12.72.

U-21: 1. Dineshwari T (KAR) 11.99, 2. Supriya Maddali (AP) 12.26, 3. Rashmi Sheregar (MAH) 12.27.

100m boys U-17: 1. Nisar Ahmed (DEL) 10.96, 2. Anshul (DEL) 11.07, 3. Bharath Yadav P (AP) 11.10.

 U-21: 1. Nithin B (TN) 10.76, 2. Prajwal Mandana (KAR) 10.86, 3. Kiran Bhosale (MAH) 10.90.
