Nandini Gupta sets steeplechase national record

Nandini Gupta of Uttar Pradesh set a national junior record in girl’s 3000 metres steeplechase with a time of 10 minutes 53.91 seconds in the Junior Federation Cup athletics championships at the PAC Stadium here on Monday.

Nandini Gupta set a junior national record in girls 3000 metres steeplechase in Lucknow on Monday.

Nandini Gupta of Uttar Pradesh set a national junior record in girl’s 3000 metres steeplechase with a time of 10 minutes 53.91 seconds in the Junior Federation Cup athletics championships at the PAC Stadium here on Monday.

The 20-eyar-old Nandini beat the record of 11:04.80 set by Parul Chaudhary in Vijayawada in November 2014.

Komal Jagadale of Maharashtra and Astha Ojha were in hot pursuit of Nandini, and came under the previous meet record of 11:34.62 set by MP Safeeda in Chennai in 2014, while bagging the silver and bronze respectively.
