Athletics coach Satyanarayana stands to lose the Dronacharya award honours due to late discovery of alleged charges against him. He had been recommended for the Award on August 5.

Following a complaint by one of the committee members, the government has discovered there were some vigilance cases pending against the coach, who trained T. Mariyappan to win the gold at the Rio Paralympics.

With the government having the final say in the matter, Satyanarayana is unlikely to be cleared for the award.

In another development, woman weightlifter K. Sanjita Chanu has been added to the list of Arjuna award recommendations.
