Ramkumar in Cincinnati main draw after Monfils pulls out

Ramkumar Ramanathan entered the main draw of the Cincinnati Open as the lucky loser after Gael Monfils pulled out of the ATP 1000 masters event due to illness.

Ramkumar had lost 7-6(6), 7-6(2) to Maximilian Marterer of Germany in the second and final qualifying round of the $5,244,930 ATP tournament after beating the 68th ranked Dusan Lajovic of Serbia in straight sets in the first round.

He will face qualifier Christopher Eubanks in the first round.

In the $25,000 ITF women’s tournament in Thailand, Karman Kaur Thandi made the pre-quarterfinals, while she was joined in the main draw by Pranjala Yadlapalli and Natasha Palha.

In the ITF men’s Futures in Spain, Arjun Kadhe and Anurag Nenwani entered the main draw and joined Aryan Goveas and Dhruv Sunish.
