Akshay, Abhishek, Riteish to face-off at PBL Final ceremony

PBL Brand Ambassador Akshay Kumar will be seen clashing in a game of badminton with Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh at the closing ceremony of the lucrative tournament here on Sunday.

PBL Brand Ambassador Akshay Kumar will be seen clashing in a game of badminton with Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh at the closing ceremony of the lucrative tournament here on Sunday.

Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh are sports enthusiasts and have a keen interest in badminton. While Akshay co-owns Mumbai Rockets, Abhishek owns the franchisee of Jaipur Pink Panthers in the Pro Kabaddi League and also co-owns Chennaiyin FC in the Indian Super League.

On the occasion of the grand closing ceremony, Akshay Kumar, Jr. Bachchan and Riteish will play a 15 points game against each other in front of the crowd at the DDA Badminton and Squash Stadium, Siri Fort.

Akshay said: “It will be a great experience playing against Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh in front of international badminton players and Delhi badminton fans. The PBL 2016 is a huge success in the country as it has drawn attention from all corners and motivated the young generation. Abhishek and Riteish are big sports enthusiasts and play various sports. I am eagerly waiting for the badminton match against them in Delhi.”

Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan said: “I have played badminton many times in my life but never in front of star players like Saina Nehwal, Cai Yun and PV Sindhu. Playing badminton against Akshay and Riteish, with whom I worked as a co-star, will be a different experience. I hope to have a good game and give some good competition to Khiladi Kumar and Riteish.”

Riteish added: “I am expecting a grand show on the court as we will be playing on the sidelines of the PBL, which has some of the top players in the world.”

Delhi Acers, Chennai Smashers, Mumbai Rockets and Awadhe Warriors have qualified for the semi-finals of the Premier Badminton League which will culminate with the finals here on Sunday.
