BWF World Jr Team C'ship: India crashes out of quarters

India's Lakshya Sen lost to Jun Hao Leong 13-21, 15-21 while Ashmita Chaliha slipped to a 12-21, 12-21 defeat against Goh Jin Wei as India crashed out of the quarterfinals.

After defeating Sweden 3-2 in its final group fixture to book a quarterfinal berth, India's Dhruv Kapila and Mithula U K went down to Malaysia's Eng Cheong NG and Sueh Jeou TAN 18-21, 10-21 at the BWF World Junior Mixed Team Championships in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on Thursday.

In a match that lasted a little less than 30 minutes, Malaysia won 42 points to India's 28.

Meanwhile, World No. 2 Lakshya Sen went down to Jun Hao Leong 13-21, 15-21 in just over half-an-hour.

And Goh Jin Wei trumped Ashmita Chaliha 21-12, 21-12 to extend Malaysia's overall lead to 3-0.
