Lin Dan defeated world No. 1 Chen Long in straight games to lift his sixth China Masters title. Dan took 65 minutes to beat his opponent 21-17, 23-21 at the Changzhou Olympic Centre in Jiangsu on Sunday.
This is Dan’s third men’s singles title of the year after having won the German Open and All-England last month.
China also grabbed three other titles on Sunday. Li Xuerui won the women’s singles, defeating Yu Sun in the final 2-1. Sun won the first game 21-16, but lost the second 19-21. However, she jumped back in the third game, winning 21-6, which was an one-sided affair.
Luo Ying and Luo Yu won the women’s doubles and Xu Chen and Ma Jin won the mixed doubles titles.
Yong Dae Lee and Yeon Seong Yoo avenged their Malaysian Open semifinal loss three weeks ago against Gi Jung Kim and Sa Rang Kim by winning the men’s doubles 21-17, 21-14 in an all-South Korean men’s doubles final.
