Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty moved to the semifinals of the Fuzhou China Open after beating Li Junhui and Liu Yuchen of China in straight games. In what was a rematch of the Thailand Open final, where the Indian pair triumphed, Satwiksairaj and Chirag took the match 21-19, 21-15 in 43 minutes.

They took a 3-0 lead in the first game and ceded initiative only once, at 17-16. Satwiksairaj's movement at the baseline and Chirag's quick reflexes at the net were on show as they took the opening game 21-19.

The second game followed a similar script, with the world No. 9 duo going one step further by staying ahead throughout. The Chinese opponents put up a good fight but the Indian pair's aggressive approach helped them close in on the victory.

The lone Indians left in the tournament will take on the top ranked pair Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, the same opponents they lost to in the final of the French Open last month, for a place in the final.
