India's H. S. Prannoy and Kidambi Srikanth moved into the second round of the Denmark Open.

Prannoy secured a 21-18, 21-19 win over Denmark's Emil Holst, before Srikanth demolished Subhankar Dey 21-17, 21-15 in 35 minutes. Srikanth's dominance could be gauged by the fact that his opponent could not secure more than a one-point lead at any time in the match, and that too, for very brief periods.

Prannoy's contest went neck-and-neck but the Indian ensured he finished the games off with a final surge. At one point, however, Prannoy trailed his opponent by four points in the second game, but the blip was temporary as he bounced back to establish a three-point advantage, and never trailed thereafter. Prannoy finished the contest in 48 minutes.

His success was a boost for the Indian challenge that until then had suffered with two doubles losses.

Sai Praneeth's campaign ended with a 10-21, 15-21 loss to Denmark's Hans-Kristian Vittinghus.

India’s mixed doubles pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy bowed out of the Denmark Open in the first round with a 21-19, 21-17 defeat to Denmark’s Niclas Nohr and Sara Thygesen.

Ponnappa and Rankireddy engaged in a neck-and-neck battle in the first game until the home team pipped its opponent at the end, taking two consecutive points at 19-all to gain the lead. The second game was lopsided; the Indian team trailed all the way through. The match was wrapped up in 39 minutes.

Ponnappa's campaign ended after she lost the women's doubles match, partnering Sikki N. Reddy, to the Malaysian pair of Kuan Chow and Yean Lee 21-15,18-21,21-23.

The men’s doubles pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj also suffered a defeat, going down in three games to the South Korean pair of Chung Eui Seok and Kim Duk Young.

The Indian pair took the first game 21-14 in a one-sided phase of the match, before the Korean pair bounced back with a much closer second game that it won 21-18. The deciding game was also close; it was clinched 21-17 in the end by the Korean pair.

Sumeeth Reddy and Manu Attri also suffered a similar fate, losing to local pair Mads Kolding and Mads Conrad-Petersen 13-21, 18-21.
