India's Parupalli Kashyap failed to enter for the main draw of the Denmark Open Superseries badminton tournament after losing to Japan’s Takuma Ueda 21-4, 21-19 in the second round of qualifying on Tuesday.

The 31-year-old had defeated Denmark’s Victor Svendsen 21-13, 21-16 in his first qualification match, but couldn't carry his form into the next match.

Subhankar Dey is still in contention after narrowly winning his first qualifying match against Denmark's Kim Bruun. It took the Indian 67 minutes to register a 21-12, 13-21, 21-15 win. The 24-year-old has to win the match against another local lad — Rasmus Gemke — to enter the main draw.

Meanwhile, 17-year-old Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and 27-year-old Ashwini Ponnappa entered the main draw after winning back-to-back qualification matches on Tuesday. In the first match, the Indian pair defeated Denmark's Kristoffer Knudsen and Isabella Nielsen 21-17, 21-13. In the second, they triumphed over Germany's Jones Ralfy Jansen and Eva Janssens 21-8, 21-13.
