India’s P. Kashyap and Mithun Manjunath entered the men’s singles pre-quarterfinals at the USD 75,000 Orleans Masters — a BWF Tour Super 100 tourney — here on Wednesday.
Kashyap, the sixth seed, defeated Italy’s Rosario Maddaloni 21-15, 21-17 to set up a clash against Japan’s Koki Watanebe. Mithun beat compatriot Siddharth Pratap Singh 21-18, 21-16.

In women’s singles, Mugdha Agrey overcame stiff resistance from Sri Krishna Priya Kudaravalli; she prevailed 21-16, 20-22, 21-13 to enter the last-16. In the next round, she faces Switzerland’s Sabrina Jaquet, who defeated Vaidehi Choudhary 21-16, 21-19.
Vrudhali Gummari bowed out, losing 11-21, 12-21 to Israel’s Ksenia Polikarpova.
Win for Dhruv, Kuhoo
In mixed doubles, Dhruv Kapila and Kuhoo Garg defeated Germany’s Jan Colin Volker and Eva Janssens 21-18, 21-19. Tarun Kona and Lim Khim Wah, the Indian-Malaysian pair, defeated Algeria’s Mohamed Abderrahime Belarbi and Adel Hamek 21-16, 21-15 to enter the last-16.
In women’s doubles, Kuhoo and Saili Rane lost 20-22, 14-21 to Germany’s Annabella Jager and Stine Kuspert.
