Top seeds Pranaav Chopra and N. Sikki Reddy is just a step away from notching up their second Grand Prix title of the season as the duo reached the finals of the Scottish Open, here on Saturday.
The World No. 22 pair, who had won the Brazil Grand Prix in September, progressed to the summit clash after edging past Denmark duo of Mathias Christiansen and Sara Thygesen 21-18, 23-21 in a 46-minute clash.
The duo will next take on Malaysian pair of Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Jemie Lai on Sunday.
Pranaav and Sikki had to dug deep especially in the second game of the semifinal match.
In the opening game, Pranaav and Sikki surged to a 5-3 slender lead and kept extending their distance to lead 17-12. However, the Danish pair clawed back at 18-18 before the Indian duo managed to reel off the next three points.
In the second game, Pranaav and Sikki once again opened up a massive 7-1 lead only to see it evaporate as Mathias and Sara drew parity at 14-14 and then turned the tables holding a 16-14 lead. But the Indian pair ensured there are no hiccups as they showed better nerves to emerge victories.
