All this while P. V. Sindhu has enthralled the world with the racquet. And now, it's time for the Olympic silver medallist to don the producer's hat. The Hyderabad-based shuttler, who recently grabbed silver at the World Championships, is acting as the producer for a digital film that honours her coach Pullela Gopichand.
Coming together with a sports drink brand, Gatorade, its brand ambassador--Sindhu--has made it a point to let the world know the importance of a teacher in one's life through this film.
The film will showcase the life of a young girl whose idyllic childhood was transformed by a formidable force, someone responsible for her meteoric rise to success.
Sindhu’s story is revealed through this film when the coach urges the champion shuttler, to believe in herself and keep going, despite bruised knees and afternoons spent perfecting her game.
“Each of those moments added to her journey to become one of the most celebrated badminton players in the world today,” she says.
“The coach has worked relentlessly and has had big dreams for me. He is my faith replenisher... I can’t help but feel indebted to coach for his relentless pursuit of excellence,” she said, adding that on Teacher's Day it is her way of paying tribute to the mentors, who made her what she is today.
