For the 20-year-old, this is her first title in three finals having lost in two earlier summit clashes at the 2015 Vijaywada Nationals to Ruthvika Shivani and the 2013 New Delhi Nationals to P. V. Sindhu.

Rituparna Das of Telangana, a trainee of Gopi Chand Academy, won the women's singles crown in the 81st Senior National badminton championship at the Patliputra Sports Complex here on Tuesday, defeating Reshma Karthik (Air India) 21-12, 21-14 in the final.

For the 20-year-old, this is her first title in three finals having lost in two earlier summit clashes at the 2015 Vijaywada Nationals to Ruthvika Shivani and the 2013 New Delhi Nationals to P. V. Sindhu.

"I am very happy. Now This time, I had an easy draw. I will now focus on International tournaments and improve my world rankings which is at 55 at the moment," said Das.
