P. V. Sindhu will lead the Indian challenge at the Asia Mixed Team Championships in Vietnam.

P. V. Sindhu and Saina Nehwal will spearhead India at the inaugural Asia Mixed Team Championships to be held in Vietnam from February 14-19.

Both Sindhu and Saina are in good touch with the former winning the Syed Modi Grand Prix in Lucknow last week and the latter clinching the Malaysia Masters title at the season's start. Both will feature in the women's singles.

Tanvi Lad and Rituparna Das are also part of the squad but they are unlikely to play considering the event will have only one women's singles match, one men's singles, one men's doubles, one women's doubles and one mixed doubles.

Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold winner Sameer Verma, who has been in fine form, will spearhead the Indian challenge in men's singles. Swiss Open champion H. S. Prannoy will also feature in the Indian squad, which will miss Kidambi Srikanth, who has decided to skip the event.

B. Sumeeth Reddy and Manu Attri -- ranked 22nd in the world -- and young teenagers Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will feature in the men's doubles event.

Brimming with confidence after winning their maiden Grand Prix Gold title at Lucknow, Pranaav Jerry Chopra and N. Sikki Reddy, will look to give India a win in the mixed doubles event, while Sikki will also be pairing up with Ashwini Ponnappa. The team will also have the services of K. Maneesha.

Thirteen teams will be fighting for the coveted trophy of which China, Korea, Japan and Malaysia are the top four seeds.
