The Utah Jazz and coach Quin Snyder have agreed on a "long-term" contract extension, the NBA team said Friday, without giving further details.
Snyder just finished the second season of a three-year deal with a team option for a fourth.
Utah went 40-42 this past season missing the playoffs by one game.
It was in the hunt until the last day of the regular season despite a rash of injuries, and the club has a young core of talent featuring small forward Gordon Hayward and power forward Derrick Favors.
"We have continued to take significant steps as a team under Quin's direction," Jazz general manager Dennis Lindsey said in a statement.
"His work ethic, basketball intelligence and ability to connect with and develop our players make him the ideal head coach of the Jazz."
Snyder has a 78-86 record in his two seasons with the Jazz.
