In a big news for Basketball and NBA fans around India, Golden States Warriors player and NBA superstar Kevin Durant is all set to visit the country.
Durant will visit the NBA elite academy, the first of its kind academy which will be set up by the NBA to train basketball players in the country.
The academy will provide world-class training, coaching and also take care of the academics of the young players.
Already 24 Junior players have been picked up through a nation wide programme called the ACG-NBA Jump,and these 24 players will get full scholarship.

Durant will be the first NBA player to visit the academy, and the Warriors player said he couldn't wait to visit India, "Late in the summer I will be going out to the academy and I am super excited about it,I will be the first NBA player to visit the academy. I am excited about the grassroots programme and I am looking forward to it."
Another thing on his wishlist is a visit to Taj Mahal, “Seeing the Taj Mahal has been on my bucket list for a while,” he said.
Durant is one of the biggest names in the NBA, he was the MVP in the 2013-14 season, and also won rookie of the year in 2007-08.
He recently moved to the Golden States Warriors from the Oklahoma City Thunder, and is having a terrific season for his new team. Durant is averaging 25.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists through 56 games. He is recording career-highs in field goal shooting percentage (53.9%), rebounds (8.3 rpg) and blocks (1.7 bpg). Durant’s season-high 40 points also came against his former team, the Thunder, in a 121-100 blowout win at the Oracle Arena on Jan 18.
