Pascal Siakam wants to stay in Toronto. The Raptors forward is discussing a maximum contract extension with his team ahead of the 2019-20 season, according to a report from The Athletic, which cited unidentified league sources.

Siakam is eligible for a four-year, $130 million max deal, or a five-year, $170 million max contract. The 25-year-old was selected by Toronto with the No. 27 pick in the 2016 NBA Draft and is coming off a breakout season in which he won the league's Most Improved Player award.

He showed proficiency on both sides of the ball in his third NBA season, averaging 16.9 points, 6.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game while making 80 appearances for the Toronto Raptors. He was a big part of Toronto's title run, tallying 19 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game in 24 playoff appearances.

Siakam was Toronto's second-leading scorer in 2018-19, and the Raptors' loss of Kawhi Leonard in free agency this summer opens the door for more production from him. Siakam is in the final year of his rookie deal and can receive a qualifying offer from Toronto in 2020-21.
