10 from Haryana make it to semifinals of Jr National Boxing

Ten boxers from Haryana out of the 13-member contingent qualified for the semifinals of the Junior National Boxing Championship on the fourth day of the inaugural edition.

Sanjeeta (48kg) outclassed Sushila Vita of Punjab, while Minakshi (50kg) defeated Uttar Pradesh’s Rinki Inder Kishore and Poonam (52kg) outpunched Himachal Pradesh’s Deepika to make her way into the semifinals.

Yogita (54kg) defeated Divya from Maharashtra, Priyanka (57kg) thrashed Punjab’s Navdeep Kaur in a one—sided affair and Yashi Sharma (60kg) beat UP’s Sakhi Patel.

Vinka (63kg), Deepti (66kg), Raj Saiba (70kg) and Sushma (80kg) also entered the last four stage.

However, two Haryana boxers — Alisha Singhal (+80kg) and Neha (75kg) — lost to Rajasthan’s Lipakshi and Punjab’s Diksha Rajput respectively.
