Divya Deshmukh, 13, has become India's No. 3 chess player in the women's category on Monday. According to the All India Chess Federation website's April ratings, the girl from Nagpur has a rating of 2432 - behind only Koneru Humpy (2549) and Harika Dronavalli (2492).

Deshmukh started 2019 with an Elo of 2169 and the Woman International Masters title. She won the Velammal - AICF Women International Round Robin tournament early this year and scored her maiden IM norm.

At the Aeroflot Open 2019, she played in the B-category (elo 2300-2550) and missed her second IM norm. She returned with a WGM norm - her second norm.
