Dronavalli Harika and Koneru Humpy were in the joint sixth position at the end of the 14th round of the World women’s blitz chess championship here on Thursday. They had 8.5 points each, 1.5 behind sole leader Anna Muzychuk of Ukraine. Three rounds remain.
In the men’s event, top seed Magnus Carlsen of Norway and Sergey Karjakin of Russia were in the lead, with 13 points each from 17 rounds. Four rounds remain. Former champion Viswanathan Anand was in the 21st position with 10 points.
