Armenia’s Levon Aronian let Ding Liren off the hook and settled for a frustrating 75-move draw in the second encounter of the best-of-four game final of the World Cup in Tbilisi on Sunday.

Aronian and Liren drew their first game in 35 moves. Aronian, playing white, dominated until the 28th move but the following move of his king restored the balance and Liren never again looked in any danger. Eventually the draw was agreed following repetition of moves.
