Armenia’s Levon Aronian and China’s  Ding Liren drew their first game of the World Cup chess final in 35 moves in Tbilisi on Saturday.

Aronian, playing white, dominated until the 28th move but the following move of his king restored the balance and Liren never again looked in any danger. Eventually the draw was agreed following repetition of moves.
