Idream Karaikudi Kaalai all-rounder M. Shajahan clarified that skipper Srikkanth Anirudha’s niggle isn’t serious and he should be fit for the next game against Ruby Trichy Warriors, on July 27, in Tirunelveli.
Anirudha scored his second Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) half-century (56 off 28 balls) against Chepauk Super Gillies here at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on Saturday.

“The opening start has been crucial in our games. He will be fine before the next game as there is a gap of five days,” said Shajahan, who smashed a 20-ball 43 in the same match, which Karaikudi Kaalai won by 47 runs.
'A role model'
Shajahan also heaped praises on Anirudha for his motivational nature. “You can see his performance since the last three years. He has always been a role model. He gives 200 per cent effort in the ground. Whatever it is, even if he has played at the higher level, he would still crack jokes with us. He would always tell me the positives I had, and not the negatives. He once told me no other player could hit sixes like me. These kind of words will encourage any player to perform,” he added.
