India B was a runaway winner in the first encounter against India A.

Overs 50: India 'B' 290/9 lost to Karnataka by six runs. 11 runs were required off the last over and Krishnappa Gowtham did a fantastic job by giving four runs and picking a wicket. The chase of 297 was daunting but Tiwary and Lad's knocks kept India 'B' in the business until it lost wickets at crucial stages.

OUT! Lad is bowled by Gowtham for 70. India 'B' now need 9 off the last 3 balls.

Overs 47: India 'B' 270/8 and now require 27 off 18 balls. Lad, batting on 68 is going to be the man to finish things for India 'B'. Dharmendrasinh Jadeja is the batsman at the other end.

OUT! Shreyas Gopal strikes again for his third, by sending back Umesh Yadav for 13, caught at extra cover. Fuller one from Gopal and Yadav looking to hit against the turn, gets the top edge and Mayank Agarwal at extra cover takes a fine catch.

Overs 45: India 'B' 262/7 This is turning out to be a potential thriller as the chase becomes tense. Lad on 64 and Umesh Yadav batting on 13 is capable of the big hits, but can't afford losing wickets at this stage. India 'B' need 35 off 30 balls.

OUT! India 'B' losing its way in the chase with wickets tumbling. Harshal Patel is run out, leaving the chasing team now seven wickets down. Lad, batting at the other end on 62 is running out of partners. India 'B' now need 50 off 38 balls.

OUT! That is two in two for Gopal and the legspinner has got Karnataka back into the game with the double-strike. The new batsman Jayant Yadav fails to read the googly and gets trapped infront of the stumps. India 'B' 241/6 in 42 overs.

OUT! Karnataka has got the breakthrough it was looking for, with the big wicket of Tiwary for 120. Skipper Karun Nair's gamble of giving the ball to Gopal works out, as Tiwary gets stumped while charging down the ground.

Overs 40: India 'B' 234/4 A tidy over from Shreyas Gopal, concedes only two runs. Meanwhile, Siddhesh Lad has reached his half-century. India 'B' now need 63 off 60 balls.

Manoj Tiwary brings up his century with a boundary. This has been a brilliant knock and kept India B in the hunt, chasing Karnataka's target of 298. India 'B' 209/4 in 36.4 overs.

Overs 35: India 'B' 189/4 Another big partnership here with Tiwary dominating the proceedings. The Bengal batsman has 10 boundaries with four hits over the fence in his knock of 93. The required rate from 7.5 runs per over has come down to 7.2.

Overs 30: India 'B' 151/4 Tiwary is producing a knock which could rival Samarth's 117 from Karnataka's inning. Lad has played himself in here and the partnership is now worth 41 off 45 balls. India 'B' still requires 146 runs from 120 deliveries.

Overs 25: India 'B' 116/4 The required rate has risen above seven now. Siddesh Lad, who has three off 12 balls, will need to keep giving the strike to his settled partner in Tiwary. Tiwary has his fifty off 58 balls.

WICKET! Shreyas Iyer departs after a tough stay at the crease. Stuart Binny bowls it on his pads and Iyer whips it high into the hands of Shreyas Gopal at deep mid-wicket. The 85-run stand comes to an end.  India 'B' 108/4 in 22.2 overs.

Overs 20: India 'B' 91/3 Tiwary seemed to have found his groove after he launched Krishnappa Gowtham for a six and a four in the 18th over. But the next two overs produced only three runs. Gautam offered another lifeline behind the stumps, this time a missed stumping opportunity for Shreyas Iyer, who is batting on 26 from 36 balls. Tiwary has 36 from 47.

Overs 15: India 'B' 66/3 Runs have been hard to come by for Iyer and Tiwary in the last five overs but they have added 43-runs off 53 balls. Tiwary got a reprieve from CM Gautam when the wicket-keeper grassed a difficult chance in the 15th over.

Overs 10: India 'B' 44/3 The chasing side has fallen behind the scoring rate here. Karnataka pacers have kept things tight whilst picking up three quick wickets. Skipper Shreyas Iyer and Manoj Tiwary will need to stitch together a big partnership and at the same time keep up with the required rate.

WICKET! Two in two for Karnataka and a second for Prasidh! Bharat tries to steer the ball to third man, but the new ball kicks up a bit more than he expected and takes the edge. CM Gautam takes the catch. India 'B' 23/3 in 6.1 overs.

WICKET! Vihari is bowled by T Pradeep for only 4. Viharui backs away to make room for himself, but Pradeep follows him with a length ball and cleans up his leg stump. India 'B' 23/2 in 6 overs.

Overs 5: India 'B' 18/1 Karnataka will be happy with the start given by its bowlers. For India 'B', Hanuma Vihari will be key to make a chase of this score. He blitzed India 'A' last night with an unbeaten 76-ball 95.

WIKCET! Easwaran perishes trying to get the scoreboard ticking. The opener holes out to Pradeep off the bowling of T Prasidh. India 'B' 6/1 in 2.2 overs.

Abhimanyu Easwaran and Srikar Bharat to begin the chase for India 'B'. A target of 297 in 50 overs.

Overs 50: Karnataka 296/8 The tail-enders have also done their bit and Karnataka finish strongly. Skipper Karun Nair will be pleased with that score. India 'B' batters didn't have much to do in their win over India 'A' on Sunday but will have to showcase their full potential to get over the line here.

WICKET! Gowtham scoops the ball into his own stumps and Kaul has his third. Karnataka 281/8 in 48.2 overs.

WICKET! Samarth misses a slow full toss and is bowled by Harshal Patel for 117. Karnataka 279/7 in 47.5 overs.

Overs 45: Karnataka 249/6 A brilliant Ravikumar Samarth is proving to be a thorn in the flesh of India 'B'.  If Shreyas Iyer's bowlers can remove the centurion, then his batsmen can hope for a chase of less than 270. Samarth has Krishnappa Gowtham for company.

WICKET! Umesh Yadav strikes! Shreyas Gopal offers a nothing shot to a pacy delivery from Umesh Yadav and has his stumps rearranged. Karnataka 236/6 in 43.2 overs

WICKET! Gautam departs! Siddarth Kaul is brought back into the attack and he responds with another caught behind wicket. The ball is too close for Gautam to cut and he ends up edging the ball into the wicket-keeper's gloves. Gautam played his hand with a 30-ball 28. Karnataka 234/5 in 42.3 overs.

Overs 40: Karnataka 214/4 Jayanat Yadav has completed his full quota of 10 overs for 48 runs, with two wickets to his name. Karnataka looks primed to make it big in the last 10 overs if Samarth continues to play his shot. The right-hand batsman, batting on 89, is approaching a well-crafted century.

Overs 35: Karnataka 187/4 The Vijay Hazare champion has lost two quick wickets in the last five overs but Samarth has continued to play his shots here. He is batting on 76, and will be worried that he might run of partners in the other end. India 'B' will do well to keep Samarth off strike and create pressure on his new partner CM Gautam.

WICKET! Jayant Yadav has another wicket! Stuart Binny was in two minds to whether sweep or tuck and his indecision has cost him dearly. His tuck behind takes an inside edge and the ball looped up for an easy catch for the wicket-keeper Bharat. Karnataka 179/4 in 32.4 overs.

WICKET! Jayant Yadav provides the breakthrough with the wicket of Deshpande! The nagging partnership is finally broken after a spell of dot balls from Yadav as Deshpande miscues a lofted shot. Hanuma Vihari adjusts well to snaffle a smart catch. Karnataka 168/3 in 30.5 overs.

Overs 30: Karnataka 168/2 The partnership has blossomed to 86 runs in less than 15 overs. Samarth has brought up his fifty and Deshpande is approaching the landmark, batting on 46.

Overs 25: Karnataka 135/2 Samarth 46* has anchored the innings well along with Deshpande 28*.

Over 20: Karnataka 105/2 India 'B' has picked up the key wicket of Agarwal but the new batsman Pavan Deshpande and Samarth have moved along well to put the pressure back on them. Samarth has been smart with the placements of his shots.

WICKET! MAYANK AGARWAL HAS BEEN DISMISSED! He chases a wide delivery from Harshal Patel only to edge behind, falling six runs short of his ninth half century this season. Karnataka 82/1 in 15.2 overs

Overs 15: Karnataka 81/1 Both Agarwal and Ravikumar Samarth have upped the run-rate with good running between the wickets and by promptly putting away the bad balls. Mayank Agarwal has treated us to a delightful six over long-off from the bowling of Jadeja. The partnership is worth 48 runs.

Overs 10: Karnataka 49/1 Spin, in the form of Dharmendrasinh Jadeja, has been introduced in the inning as early as the ninth over. Agarwal key for Karnataka as he as moved on to 29 off only 26 balls faced.

WICKET! Kaul's probing line prises out Karun Nair. The Karnataka skipper's drive takes an edge  behind and is collected by Srikar Bharat comfortably. Karnataka 33/1 in 7.1 overs.

Overs 5: Karnataka 21/0 Umesh and Siddarth Kaul keep the Karnataka openers in check after the loose start. Kaul has been hitting the right line and lengths, making use of the conditions so far.

Overs 1: Karnataka 12/0 Umesh's looseners are put away with ease by Agarwal. Karnataka off to a brisk start with three boundaries.

India speedster Umesh Yadav starts up first against the in-form Mayank Agarwal and Karun Nair.

Hello and welcome to Sportstar's live coverage of the Deodhar Trophy.

India B will lock horns with in-form Karnataka at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala. While the latter will be brimming with confidence, having clinched its third Vijay Hazare title last week, India B will draw inspiration from Sunday night's win against India A. All eyes will be on Mayank Agarwal, whose purple patch over the last three domestic tornaments, has brought him into national reckoning. On the other hand, Hanuma Vihari would hope to replicate his recent batting exploits , which saw him spearhead India B's chase in the opening game with a quickfire 95 not out.

All in all, today's encounter promises to be a cracker!
