Asia Cup 2022: Four teams will feature in the Asia Cup qualifying tournament which will be held in Muscat between August 20-24.

The Asia Cup 2022 tournament will get underway in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from August 27.

Defending champion India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan will be joined by a qualifier. The tournament will be played in a double round-robin and knockout format.

India and Pakistan will be joined by the winner of the qualifying tournament in Group A, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan are slotted in Group B.

The Asia Cup 2022 qualifier tournament will mark the end of a three-stage qualifying process that began in 2020. But it was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns. Thirteen teams from the Asian Cricket Council’s Western and Eastern qualifying tournaments were in contention for one spot. They have been whittled down to four, who will compete for the final spot in the 2022 edition.
