Matthew Wade struck a whirlwind 71 off 45 balls as Hobart Hurricanes crushed Perth Scorchers by 71 runs to sail into the finals of the Big Bash T20 League.
Needing 211 to win - the second-biggest chase in the BBL - the Scorchers' innings fell apart despite a steady start. Michael Klinger and Shaun Marsh stitched together a 21-run partnership before Klinger (15) became T Rogers' first wicket of the night.
That triggered a slump, as the Scorchers were left reeling on 7 for 68 halfway through the innings. Rogers got rid of Marsh (30) and Bancroft (1), restricting the Scorchers to a modest 139. Christian took four and Rogers three wickets respectively.
Earlier, the Scorchers won the toss and elected to field. Opener Wade took the attack to the opposition in a blistering knock which included 10 boundaries and one six. Despite losing Tim Paine for a paltry score of 4, Wade kept the scoreboard ticking through partnerships with George Bailey (17) and Christian (37).
Ben McDermott provided the final flourish with a quickfire 67 off 30 deliveries, as the Hurricanes hammered 124 runs in the last 10 overs to finish the innings on 210. Tim Bresnan took two wickets for 40 runs.
