The new role means Dravid won’t be able to travel with the India A and under-19 teams as much as he used to.

The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA), on Tuesday, reiterated that there is no conflict of interest against Rahul Dravid, who was recently appointed the director of the National Cricket Academy.

Last week, Dravid was issued a notice by the BCCI ethics officer Justice (retd) D.K. Jain over the conflict of interest allegation levelled against him by Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association life member Sanjeev Gupta for his employment with India Cements.

"There’s no conflict on Rahul’s case. He has got a notice and we have cleared his appointment. We had seen no conflict, if Ombudsman (sees any conflict), we will have our response going to the Ombudsman why there is no conflict. He has to consider (it). It’s a process…and the process will continue," CoA member, Ravi Thodge, said after meeting Dravid here on Tuesday.

The former India captain met the CoA members in Mumbai to discuss about the facilities at the NCA. "In NCA, there are a few things that need to be done. There are shortage of grounds, they require certain positions, certain people to be employed and certain coaches. There has to be continuity," Thodge said.

"Once you select someone of Dravid’s stature, he has to ensure that the NCA comes up to that international standard. He has given his vision and we are fully in support of his vision. We will work together," the CoA member said.

Earlier, there were reports that the CoA had apparently advised Dravid to procure a ‘leave of absence’ from India Cements to counter his conflict of interest, but Jain made it clear that won’t help the former captain.

"Taking leave from a job doesn’t mean you don’t hold a post. The rules of conflict are clearly marked out in the BCCI Constitution. I am just following that," Jain had said
