Ashish Kapoor (above) and Amit Sharma were appointed to the post only last September.

Ashish Kapoor and Amit Sharma will not have any role in the junior selection committee following the BCCI’s decision to go by the Lodha Panel recommendations.

Kapoor and Sharma were part of the five-member selection committee that included Venkatesh Prasad (chairman), Rakesh Parikh and Gyanendra Pandey.

The two received a communication from the Board informing them that their services would not be required and the junior selection committee had been pruned to three as per the Lodha Committee reforms.

Interestingly, Kapoor and Sharma are considered close to the recently removed Board President, Anurag Thakur, and were appointed to the post only last September.
