The Kapil Dev-led Cricket Advisory Committee will interview six candidates for India's head coach role at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) headquarters on Friday.
Sportstar understands that the six short-listed candidates -- Mike Hesson, Tom Moody, Robin Singh, Lalchand Rajput, Phil Simmons and Ravi Shastri -- have already been informed about the interview date and time.
"Some of the overseas candidates may not be able to attend the meeting, so they would connect with the panel via video call," one of the top BCCI officials told this publication on Monday.
While the Board has reportedly received around 2,000 applications for various coaching profiles, only a few big names had applied for the position of head coach.

While India captain Virat Kohli, has time and again batted for continuing with the current head coach Shastri -- whose contract expires after India’s tour to the West Indies -- the BCCI made it clear that Kohli's inputs will not be taken during the interview process.
"The CAC members have been emailed the final shortlisted names. The members will reach Mumbai on August 15 and they will take a final call on the right candidate," the official said.
With the team touring the West Indies, Shastri will be interviewed via Skype .
"He will be the last to appear for the interview because of time zone difference," the official said.
While the three-member committee comprising Kapil, Anshuman Gaekwad and Shantha Rangaswamy will pick the head coach, the candidates for the other positions will be interviewed by the chairman of selectors MSK Prasad. However, some of the heavyweight applicants told this publication that nothing has been communicated to them as of now.
