India paceman Bhuvneshwar Kumar is set to make his comeback from a lower back injury in the ongoing Quadrangular Series at Alur, near Bengaluru.

The 28-year-old, who last played for India back in July in the third ODI against England, will turn out for India A in the inconsequential third-place playoff against South Africa-A in Alur on Wednesday.

“Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been declared fit and will be a part of India A squad in the ongoing Quadrangular series. He will feature in the side's next fixture against South Africa A,” BCCI said, on Twitter.

The bowler suffered a lower back injury during the third ODI against England at Headingley on July 17.

After undergoing medical tests in England, Bhuvneshwar went to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and a medical team from BCCI was monitoring his rehabilitation from close quarters.

The Asia Cup could be Bhuvneshwar's next international assignment.
