After an informal meeting called by Cricket Association Bengal president Sourav Ganguly, the board’s joint secretary Subir Ganguly and treasurer Biswarup Dey have decided to resign from their posts only after January 19, when the “picture will be clear”.
The decision to adopt the reforms will be taken in a Special General Meeting, the date of which will be decided on Monday.
“The date of SGM to decide on adaptation of Lodha panel reforms will be decided on Monday. We were not asked to tender our resignation today. The picture will be clear on January 19 and we will take a call then,” Dey told PTI on Wednesday.
Dey is in his 10th year as CAB office bearer having served two terms as treasurer and two terms as joint secretary.
The current joint secretary Subir Ganguly, however, is in his eighth year as office bearer but has had four straight years in office which forces him to go for a cooling-off period.
“Since Lodha reforms suggests all States to have uniform Constitution, I would wait till January 19th. The verdict has come out, we all need to resign, but we need some clarity. Since I have one year in state body administration left, I may come back to complete it,” said Subir Ganguly.
