Gearing up to host India’s 250th Test on home soil when it faces New Zealand at Eden Gardens on September 30, the Cricket Association of Bengal will felicitate both the teams and former Bengal captains with specially-minted silver coins.

The coin will be embossed with “250” and will be presented to both the teams and former Bengal captains while the CAB has also invited BCCI president Anurag Thakur and other special invitees.

“About 60 such coins will be minted. The coin will be presented to both the team members, former Bengal captains and the BCCI president, who is also expected [to be present] during the match,” CAB joint secretary Avishek Dalmiya said.

The CAB also has plans to make a special coin for the toss and 250 saplings will also be planted, an official said.
