Good morning and welcome to Sportstar 's live coverage of the Deodhar Trophy final between the Shubman Gill-led India C and the Parthiv Patel-led India B.

UPDATES

4.20 pm: There were good performances from both sides. In the second-half of the contest, Shahbaz's spell was especially valuable; he gave away just 32 runs in 10 overs, and took four wickets. Three of his wickets were those of potent batsmen in the top half of the opposition batting line-up - Mayank Agarwal, Suryakumar Yadav and Dinesh Karthik. None of these batsmen fired, and it proved costly for India C.

Of course, India B batted well, too. Kedar Jadhav (86, 94b, 4x4, 4x6) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (54, 79b, 5x4, 1x6) scored half-centuries, but there were also small but meaningful contributions from K. Gowtham and Vijay Shankar.

The target of 284 was chaseable, according to India C captain Shubman Gill, but the contest slipped away from his side's grasp due to its batting. Parthiv Patel, the India B captain, admitted he had provided instructions to his bowlers to bowl a wicket-to-wicket line, and not indulge in much flight.

Priyam Garg, the No. 3, played a valiant hand of 74 (77b, 8x4, 1x6). But once India C had been reduced to 77 for 5, the side was always playing catch-up.

India C is handed the trophy by Amitabh Choudhary. That ends our Deodhar Trophy coverage. The Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, a domestic T20 tournament, begins on November 8. Until then, it's goodbye.

4.12 pm: The formalities are over, and India B clinches the title with a 51-run win. Kalaria took his first wicket in the penultimate over by having No. 10 Diwesh Pathania bowled with a slower delivery. No. 11 Porel, who took five wickets earlier in the day, struck a handsome boundary in the same over.

Mohd. Siraj bowled an uneventful final over, which included an unsuccessful appeal for lbw against Jalaj. Jalaj remained unbeaten on 37.

3:56 pm: India C was nearly nine down when Jalaj pulled Kalaria to deep mid-wicket. Nitish Rana didn't judge the catch very well, take one step too many to try to pouch it. The ball reached him high up in the chest, and spilled out of his hands as he awkwardly tried to grab it.

But it isn't likely to be very costly as India C now requires 61 runs in two overs.

3.49 pm: With the required run-rate rising to more than 13 an over, risks had to be taken, and Markande, trying to loft Shahbaz Nadeem for a six to long-on, perishes. He couldn't hit the ball as cleanly as he did when he hit his first six; the fielder at long-on accepted the offering. India C is eight down now. Three wickets for Nadeem.

3.41 pm: Three quieter overs, and India C needs 85 more runs to win in seven overs. K. Gowtham and Shahbaz Nadeem haven't provided any loose offerings - no width or leverage.

3:33 pm: Another productive over for India C. A short ball from Kalaria is pulled to fine leg for a boundary, and five more runs are collected in the rest of the over. Forty overs are up. India 'C' needs 94 runs with three wickets in hand.

3:26 pm: A nice drive, full of confidence and poise, through extra-cover from Markande. The ball landed just inside the rope. Rush Kalaria was the bowler.

3:14 pm: An unexpected bonus for India B. Axar Patel is run out at the non-strikers' end as he fails to get back in the crease on time when Rana's delivery is straight-driven by Jalaj Saxena and travels straight to hit the stumps. India C seven down now.

One of the fielders had his finger up, but the bowler himself wasn't aware of how close it was. Axar departs for 38 (49, 3x4, 1x6). Mayank Markande is the new batsman.

3:07 pm: Axar, who has batted for a while now, dances down the track and lofts Rana for a six straight down the ground. It's a neat hit, and thanks to five singles from the other deliveries, the over garners 15 runs for India C. 162 for 6 in 33 overs.

3:00 pm: The required run-rate is above seven now. Four wickets are in hand. Part-timer Nitish Rana bowls a quiet over, and India is 147 for 6 after 31 overs.

2:15pm: India C is 77/5 after 19 overs. It has lost three wickets in quick succession, with Suryakumar Yadav, Dinesh Karthik and Virat Singh the batsmen dismissed. Axar Patel is the new batsman in, with Priyam Garg well-set on 36.

1:45pm: WICKET! Mayank Agarwal is out caught at extra cover off Shahbaz Nadeem for 28. India C 60/2 after 12 overs, Virat Singh is the new batsman in, joining Priyam Garg.

1:35pm: Mayank Agarwal and Priyam Garg have stabilised India C after the early dismissal of captain Shubman Gill. Agarwal is batting on 26, while Garg is on 18. India B 45/1 after 10 overs.

1:00pm: Shubman Gill falls early , out caught for 1, for India C in its run-chase. Mohammed Siraj is the wicket-taker. India C 2/1 after 2 overs . Opening batsman Mayank Agarwal is joined by Priyam Garg.

12:08pm: End of 50 overs, India B 283/7. Kedar Jadhav top-scored with 86, while cameos from Vijay Shankar (45) and Krishnappa Gowtham (35 not out) helped India B finish strongly after a poor start to the innings. Ishan Porel was the pick of India C bowlers with figures of 10-0-43-5.

11:42am: India B 211/5 after 45 overs. India B looks good to have a strong finish to its innings, with Vijay Shankar having found his hitting rhythm (he's batting on 27), while a well-set Kedar Jadhav also in the middle. The pair has added 40 runs for the sixth wicket so far.

11:18am: WICKET! Nitish Rana is out caught behind for 20, off the bowling of Ishan Porel, who picks his third wicket. India B 171/5 in the 39th over. Vijay Shankar is the new batsman in.

10:57am: India B 157/4 after 36 overs. Kedar Jadhav has reached his fifty. Giving him company is Nitish Rana, the duo has added 65 runs for the fifth wicket. Mayank Markande has proved expensive, conceding 52 runs in seven overs.

10:33am: India B 106/4 after 28 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been dismissed by Axar Patel, out caught at deep square leg from a top-edged sweep. Nitish Rana (7 not out) has joined Kedar Jadhav (12 not out) in the middle.

10:08am: WICKET! Jalaj Saxena removes Baba Aparajith, who's out lbw for 13. It was a flighted delivery from Saxena, Aparajith is hit on the full on his front pad as he tried to play a cross-batted shot. Quite an easy decision for the umpire. Kedar Jadhav is the new batsman in. India B 74/3 after 21 overs.

9:50am: India B 56/2 after 16 overs. Yashavi Jaiswal is leading the fightback, he's batting on 35, while Baba Aparajith is batting on 6. Jalaj Saxena, who took seven for 41 against India A in the league fixture, is into his third over and wicket-less so far.

9:25am: WICKET! Parthiv Patel is nicked off by Ishan Porel for 14. Dinesh Karthik takes a diving, one-handed catch to his left, and India B is 33/1 after 9 overs . Baba Aparajith is the new batsman in, Yashasvi Jaiswal is batting on 13.

9:03am: India B 9/1 after 4 overs. Disciplined bowling from Ishan Porel and Diwesh Gurdev Pathania for India C. Jaiswal edged Porel to the slip but fortunately, the ball didn't carry. Bowlers on top here!

8:49am: WICKET! Ishan Porel removes Ruturaj Gaikwad for a duck, out caught in the slip off the last ball of the first over. Yashasvi Jaiswal is the new batsman in at No. 3. India B 1/1 after 1 over.
