Destructive Lynn will continue to attack

If selected in the playing XI in the upcoming One-Day International series against Pakistan, Chris Lynn intends to take the same aggressive approach that has thrilled crowds across Australia in recent weeks in the Big Bash League.

Chris Lynn says he will take the same explosive approach to One-Day International (ODI) cricket with Australia as he has done in the Big Bash League (BBL). The Brisbane Heat batsman has been the star of the 2016-17 BBL with three stunning innings in his last four appearances - Lynn registered unbeaten scores of 85, 84 and most recently 98 in the T20 competition.

His destructive performances for the Heat - which have included 26 sixes - see him top the batting charts with 309 runs to his name at an average of 154.50, form that has not gone unrecognised by the Australian selectors. As a result, the 26-year-old is in line to make his ODI debut on his home ground against Pakistan in the opening match of the five-game series.

And, if selected, he intends to take the same aggressive approach that has thrilled crowds across Australia in recent weeks. "You've got the green and gold on so there's no excuse to go down any gears," said Lynn.

"Boof [coach Darren Lehmann] has always said if you want to hit it then hit it. If I want to whack it, then I whack it. I'll play every ball on its merits."
