India opener Shikhar Dhawan was left disappointed by his failure to capitalise and make a century on the opening day of the first Test against West Indies.
Dhawan made 84 as Virat Kohli starred with an unbeaten 143, with India reaching 302-4 at stumps in Antigua on Thursday.
The left-hander was trapped lbw by Devendra Bishoo (3-108) just 16 runs shy of a fifth Test century.
"I felt sad when I got out. That was very disappointing," Dhawan said, via India Today.
"It wasn't a very good delivery to get out. I just got out because of wrong shot selection. But still it's a learning lesson for me. I know next time if something like this happens, what to do.
"It is sad that I missed out on the century but I am happy that I scored 84 runs and started on a good note in the series."
Dhawan and Kohli have put India in control despite the best efforts of Bishoo in particular at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium.
Bishoo felt the tourist's batsmen simply made the most of what he believes are good batting conditions.
"We've been in a better position but at the end of the day it's a good pitch and the Indian batsmen capitalised on it," he said.
"We didn't put the ball in the areas as much, but we bowled good in patches.
"We just have to, session by session, take it one over at a time and put the ball in the right areas as long as possible, make it harder for them.
"At the end of it, we have to be patient."
