Dhoni, Rahane to lead warm-up games against England

BCCI’s official broadcaster, Star Sports, will telecast warm up games between England and India A live.

Mumbai: The Cricket Club of India (CCI) is going all out to make the two warm up games between India À’and England a great hit. The CCI President Kekoo Nicholson, who plays billiards and snooker, has always reiterated the view held by the late Club and BCCI President Rajsingh Dungapur that CCI will always remain for cricket and other sports.

With Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who relinquished captaincy from ODIs and Twenty20 intrernationals, being named captain for the first warm up match on January 10, Star Sports has decided to telecast the match live. In fact the BCCI’s official broadcaster will telecast both warm up games live; Ajinkya Rahane will lead India À’in the second friendly on January 12.

"Preparations are in full swing. Dhoni is a legend and he could be playing his last match at the Brabourne Stadium on January 10. Gates are going to be free and we expect around 20,000 spectators for the match," said Sachin Bajaj, executive committee member of the Club.

The BCCI would reimburse the CCI with all match-related expenses. England will practise at the CCI on Sunday morning.
