Delhi’s finds of season Nitish Rana and Dhruv Shorey hit patient centuries as the visitors managed a point against defending champions Karnataka thereby having a slender outside chance of qualifying for the knock-out rounds of the Ranji Trophy.
Delhi thus ended their group league engagements with 25 points from eight games. While the league table will show them at the top of group A, Bengal, Assam (both on 25 points) and Karnataka (with 24) have a match to go.
UP lower-order ensures a draw against Punjab
Uttar Pradesh lower-order batted with purpose to force a draw against a dominant Punjab, but could not deny the visitors’ three points on the basis of first innings lead in the Group B match.

After losing Almas Shaukat (6), Himanshu Asnora (0) and skipper Suresh Raina (4) UP were 10 for three and then slumped to 96 for five before they saw a fightback.
