Assam vs Uttar Pradesh : At stumps on Day Three, UP was 229 for 2, with Umang Sharma batting on 133. It leads by 260 runs. Assam was bowled out for 318 in its first innings.

Maharashtra vs Railways : At stumps on Day Three, Railways is on 330 for 5. Amol Karhadkar reports from Pune:

. Arindam Ghosh and Manish Rao have survived the anxious last hour with the new ball to help Railways end the day at 330 for five. The duo will hold the key on Sunday morning if Railways has to earn the innings lead.

. Nikit Dhumal strikes off the third ball with the new ball to get rid of captain Mahesh Rawat, but Arindam Ghosh and all-rounder Manish Rao then avoid further damage. With 14 overs remaining in the day's play, Railways is 304 for five.

. Offie Chirag Khurana gives Maharashtra a crucial breakthrough minutes before tea, as Pratham Singh's impressive debut results in a thick edge to 'keeper Rohit Motwani. Seasoned duo of Arindam Ghosh and Mahesh Rawat then avoid further damage as Railways is placed at 268 for four at tea. With the new ball available, Maharashtra would be hoping for late strikes!

. Just when debutant Pratham Singh and Nitin Bhille were set to snatch the advantage away from Maharashtra, another debutant, left-arm pacer Mukesh Choudhary, brought the host back in the game, enticing Bhille into a lofted drive straight to Chirag Khurana at covers. Railways 232 for 3, still some distance off the magic mark of 482!

. Pratham Singh has been impressive in his pratham (first) knock in first-class cricket. Nitin Bhille has played the role of the senior pro to perfection as Railways take lunch at 186 for 2.

. Chirag Khurana's off-spin did the trick in the second over of the day as he trapped Saurabh Wakaskar in front of the wickets and Shivakant Shukla, the other opener, was pouched by 'keeper Rohit Motwani just after the first hour's play. Since then, however, debutant Pratham Singh and Nitin Bhille have looked in little trouble as Railways has coasted to 166 for two. [ Day Two report ]

Two new batsmen at the crease boosts TN's chances in the final session of decisively pressing forward for victory.

. The first session clearly belonged to Odisha. TN needed quick wickets but the home team has managed to lose just one. Odisha 136 for one with Natraj Behera playing on 55 with skipper Govinda Poddar. Odisha 89 for 0 at drinks break. The first 16 overs have accounted for 61 runs so far and it could be a long day for TN on the field.
