Ranji Trophy: Maharashtra-Assam a match of inconsequence

Surendra Bhave and Lalchand Rajput have been involved in many a duels during their heydays as opening batsmen of Maharashtra and Mumbai, respectively. In charge of Maharashtra and Assam teams now, the erstwhile arch-rivals will revive their rivalry in what would be an otherwise inconsequential last league game for both the teams.

It would be interesting to see if both the teams ring in changes in their squads with an eye on trying out younger faces. While Assam is likely to try out the bench strength, Maharashtra may hand young off-spinner Siddhesh Warghante a debut.
