As the domestic cricket season begins early this year, most state teams have started their preparations. The Saurashtra cricket team has divided its routine into three sessions.

The preparatory camp started in Rajkot this week and is expected to continue for eight days.

In June, the team had an off-season camp which mostly dealt with gym and fitness. The third and the final session will be conducted 10 days before the start of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, which starts September 19.

Among the star players, Jaydev Unadkat — the most expensive Indian player of IPL 2018 — has joined the camp.

Saurashtra coach Sitanshu Kotak praised the left-arm pacer for his work ethics.

“Unadkat is doing very well. In fact, all three India players that we have — including Ravindra Jadeja and Cheteshwar Pujara — are very stable as cricketers. They are very positive and they never criticise anybody, which I like about them,” Kotak told Sportstar .

“The off-season camp had more fitness drills. In this one, there will be more hours at the nets,” he added.

The seasons starts with the multi-day Duleep Trophy from August 17.
