. A splendid, counterattacking 120 off merely 114 balls by Rahul Tripathi wasn’t enough for host Maharashtra to post a substantial first innings lead against Karnataka at Pune. Visiting captain R. Vinay Kumar took six for 59 in the Maharashtra first innings total of 245. Apart from Tripathi, the only home batsman to go past 12 as Naushad Shaikh (69). The duo added 147 for the sixth wicket.

. Captain Jiwanjot and Uday Kaul have calmed Punjab's nerves after the early dismissal of Manan Vohra. Punjab 57 for 1 at stumps on day one.
.Manpreet Singh's four-for restricted Chhatisgarh to a modest first innings score of 238. In response, Punjab is one down for 36; Manan Vohra falling to S S Kharwar for eight.

. Bengal closed the day one against HP at 306 for five. Abhishek Raman scored his maiden first class hundred (176 off 242 balls, 29x4) and Manoj Tiwary scored a useful half-century (78 batting off 132 balls). Himachal could bowl 86 overs after which play was stopped due to bad light.
. Bengal was at 228 for three at tea on day one of the Ranji Trophy Group D match against Himachal. Opener Abhishek Raman scored his maiden century (136 not out) and captain Manoj Tiwary (43 not out) forged a 92-run unbroken stand for the fourth wicket to strengthen the host's position. Bengal scored 123 runs in the second session for the loss of Koushik Ghosh's wicket.
Bengal was 105/2 in 33 overs after the first session of day one. Abhishek Raman (62) and Koushik Ghosh (22) were at crease and contributed in a good recovery after the fall of A. Easwaran (4) and Sudip Chatterjee (15) within 44 runs inside 12 overs.
