For the Sports Authority of India (SAI) athletes training at the GMC Balayogi Stadium it was a pleasant surprise when one of India's cricketing greats, Virender Sehwag, stepped into the campus on a private visit and exchanged pleasantries.

The former India dashing opener made a general enquiry about the training methods and the goals the athletes set for themselves. He also showed lot of interest as how they are going ahead with the training programme.

Sehwag was at the venue in connection with producing a documentary TV show depicting the success stories of athletes and also what actually helps young talent mould into champion performers.

The athletes, some of them medallists at the national level, were in awe when Sehwag suggested to them to try out magnesium bicarbonate water recipe for improved mental abilities, to be more smarter and learn faster.

Rio Olympian and sprinter Dutee Chand apparently drew the former India cricketer's attention because of her famed fight back from adversity after being suspended for alleged hyperandrogenism features.

SAI athletics coach Nagapuri Ramesh says that Sehwag proved to be a huge motivator as in his presence in the evening session, the athletes were setting new timings in their efforts.

In appreciation for his visit, Dutee quickly arranged a bouquet to be presented to a visibly delighted Sehwag at the gesture.
