Fast bowler Varun Aaron is set to miss the Ranji Trophy quarter-final clash between Jharkhand and Mumbai on account of his marriage.
The match, which is scheduled to be played from February 3-7 in Bengaluru (the Karnataka State Cricket Association may move the fixture to Mysuru), will clash with the bowler's nupital celebrations, to be held in Jamshedpur on February 3 and 4.
Aaron was not available for comment, but Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) secretary Rajesh Verma confirmed the development.
“Yes, it is true that Varun will miss the quarter-final. The team will miss his services but there is nothing one can do. After all, it's his wedding day. The dates were finalised long back and we granted him leave of absence,” Verma told The Hindu .
The Board of Control for Cricket in India had announced the schedule of the Ranji knockouts late last month.
